New luxury additions to SCHLOSS Roxburghe in the Scottish Borders

With the new Estate House opening this month, SCHLOSS Roxburghe is undergoing a major redevelopment that includes the addition of 58 new bedrooms, a purpose-built banquet suite, full spa amenities and a number of chalets scattered around the grounds. This exciting new expansion for the hotel is just one of many new additions planned for this historic Scottish Borders estate once owned by the Duke of Roxburghe.

estate house

The hotel will have an additional 58 rooms when the Estate House opens in November, doubling its current capacity of 20 rooms. The rooms will offer contemporary comfort and some of the finest views in the estate. Guests can enjoy their own private balcony and sink into the comfort of a luxurious four-poster bed. Additionally, a purpose-built banquet hall with a capacity of over 120 people and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the golf course will be developed.

Dogs are welcome at the estate house, just as they are at the main mansion. Dog owners can book rooms with their canine companions. Individual dog beds and homemade dog treats are provided.

SCHLOSS thermal baths

As part of the expansion, a brand new 1,100 square meter spa is also making its debut this month. It will include a heated outdoor infinity pool with LED lighting and an underwater sound system, indoor and outdoor relaxation rooms, a second plunge pool and a fitness center. Three treatment rooms and an integrated Finnish dry sauna are also available.

The sauna is partially buried in the ground and has a larch exterior finish, with huge panoramic windows to enjoy the view. There is also an aroma sauna where you can emit your own fragrant aroma for a very unique experience. The spa’s holistic approach will place more emphasis on general well-being, awareness and rejuvenation than just treating the body. Visitors and local residents can use the spa.

With the opening of 12 additional cottages, located in the beautiful forest of the SCHLOSS Roxburghe estate, guests will have more accommodation options from this month. For small groups of golfers looking to hit the championship golf course, the self-contained two bedroom cottages are ideal as they are only a short distance from the fantastic activities on offer throughout the resort.

Families can also consider cabins as they offer a greater sense of solitude and space. Some of them even have their own personal sauna. In the coming years, 49 additional cottages will be added to the collection, with a mix of one and two bedroom options. The last house will be finished in 2024.

Charlie’s Restaurant

The new Charlie’s restaurant has a magnificent terrace and will serve you the best Scottish bistronomy. The concept of bistronomy, which has its roots in France, emphasizes the use of the best products and artisanal cooking methods while enjoying a relaxed and comfortable setting. The idea for ‘Scottish Bistronomy’ was born out of the hotel’s aim to develop a concept that showcases the best food and produce available in the Scottish Borders whilst taking a holistic approach to ‘Ownership to the plate”.

shooting center

The shooting center has reopened with 10 new traps for visitors to try. The center is an ideal place for all levels of learning and is located in the beautiful hilly park of SCHLOSS Roxburghe.

Clay pigeon shooting, a classic game of skill that tests hand-eye coordination and response time, has been shown to have many positive effects on physical and mental health, including balance, strength muscle and mental well-being.
